Now, I fine tune my skills, and when I begin to write, the process is so much easier. Like Learning how to drive. Once you know, it is second nature. Misplaced modifiers can be funny.
Chock full of great tips on everything from how to use a semi-colon to publishing and promoting your own work, Reynold's book is a very readable guide for students, business people, memoirists, would-be novelists and anyone who wants to write a better email. After years of teaching and writing, Reynolds knows exactly where the stumbling blocks are and how they can be cleared from the path. And she does it in an entertaining way with good humor, clear explanations, and practical advice. There's a pre-test to direct you to the sections you need to study. There are good cross-references, well chosen examples, and cut-to-the-chase explanations of grammar and usage. Reynolds is your cheer leader all the way through. Her sincere desire to help you lessen the hard work of translating your thoughts into lucid English comes through loud and clear.
Reynolds gives aspiring writers the medicine they need in this book. And just like Mary Poppins, she employs a spoonful of sugar to make it go down easy.

I sure needed this book when I was teaching, but I am very grateful to have it now for my own writing.
