Ok, so I want to address some of the negative reviews I've seen of this book. Things like, "Do you really need someone to tell you what cleaning supplies to buy?" And the answer is no, but there are so many other helpful things. I would have never thought to have a spare toothbrush on hand for when people stay at my house, but that is a great, grown up thing to do. I also love the way Kelly prioritizes things, like how to stock a kitchen. Economically, this is not an easy time to be a 20 something. She gives a list showing which kitchen supplies are most necessary to least necessary, and it makes figuring out how to stock a kitchen less overwhelming. The thing is, if you've been an adult for 10 plus years, I can see how it makes us sound stupid to not know how to do the things you do everyday. But with culture changing, more and more young people are moving into the adult world as singles. We don't have the support, financially or emotionally, of a significant other (or parents for many of us), nor do we have the option of being home and figuring out 'home-stuff' while our significant other works. We have a lot to learn in a lot of different areas of life, and we have to figure it all out quickly and at the same time. We are more than capable of doing this, but having resources like 'Adulting' speeds up the process exponentially, and helps us to organize all of the things we need to learn. A theme of this book is kindness and graciousness toward others, and I would encourage those who have been adults for a long time to interact with those of us just becoming adults with kindness and grace.

I thought this was cute and obnoxious. It's definitely aimed at the chick population. I bought a copy for a boy student who graduated and I told him to skip the parts about not putting tacos in his purse. I bought myself a copy too for entertainment. There is some practical stuff, some common sense, and some just plain silliness.
This book starts off with all the fun, serious, somewhat humiliating facts you'd never admit to a friend that you didn't know. Most of this is common sense, but Kelly Brown fills in topics you might not consider (unless it smacked you in the face) with a joyous wit and matter-of-fact tone. The deeper you get, the deeper the topics in the "Adulting..." gets as well. I'd recommend this to everyone, even the most adult person in my life.
So helpful! Some of the tips were things I already knew....But it would have saved me so much trouble if I would have read this at 18 instead of 23. I highly recommend!
I gave this to my daughter as she graduated college. She loves it! Some of it is basic knowledge that she already knew. But some of it was helpful information that enlightened her! Something for everyone! Even a few tidbits parents might find helpful!
Fabulous book! As an adult who was always the responsible, competent oldest- I still found plenty to learn from this book. I laughed out loud, identified with so many of her scenarios & couldn't stop myself from calling my friends to read them excerpts.

Fabulous addition to my collection!!!
I gave this to my little sister the day she graduated college with $50 worth of singles stuck in the pages. I flipped through a few pages and it's pretty dang funny and gives great advice!
This book is hilarious at times, albeit a bit profanity laden. My personal favorite part was the advice to treat mean people like jellyfish. There’s a lot that was honestly boring to me just because I’d already covered that part in my life (21 year old me needed this) but there were also some good reminders and some good ways of thinking of things.
