This was a great story! It hit on a lot of great points such as total power exchange, pet play, BDSM, forced submission and to put the cherry on the ice cream the lead female wasn't 18!!!!

The story was a little short and only a couple of grammar errors but definitely does not take away from the story or the flow.

There was great connections between the characters, good character development and the pace felt natural. The story line was believable and brought you in almost from the start. I didn't like paying the 4.95 for the story especially with it being short but I don't regret it.

I gave it a 4 out of 5 due to the story being short and only 1 book, there isn't anything left to look forward to and can finish the book in 1 day. Otherwise I would have given a 5.

This was my first read of Ms. Stone's work and I enjoyed it very much - enough so that I plan to read the rest of her books. The BDSM is graphic - which I like. The story is tight and well written. Kara and Devin are strong, well fleshed out characters and their interaction is terrific. I loved her sass at the beginning of their "relationship" and how he dealt with it. The ending was very satisfying.

HAVE TO GET THIS OFF MY CHEST I'm not giving away any of the plot in this review because I loathe reviewers who do so -- just give your opinion, don't give a complete summary of the book! I avoid 2-3-4 page reviews at all costs!

Editing 4.0 stars ... there were a few issues but not bad enough to pull the reader out of the story, which is unfortunately common in this genre.

Kara's older brother, Tommy has been her guardian ever since their mother died. He has always been into making his money the illegal way and she tried to stay as far away from that part of his life, all while trying to get him to work a normal legal job. When Tommy picked her up for their weekly dinner he was acting a little wierd and as they are heading to the door to his apartments stairs he gets a phone call. Kara enters the stairwell and then the door slammed shut behind her and she noticed Tommy wasn't inside with her. She waited a few minutes and then heads back out to find a trail of blood that leads her to the alley and it stops by a set of tires tracks. Tommy turned up dead and the cops didn't do anything about it, they chocked it up to a drug deal gone wrong. After using what little savings she has to bury her brother she rented a car and decided she would leave in the morning to get whatever Tommy left her in a post office box a few towns over. She wasn't sure what was in it, but she figured it at least has some money in there. When she wakes up she knows something is off. Sure enough a hand wrapped around her mouth and another hand holding on to her. Devin was a part of Tommy's crew and knows his sister either has something her brother left her or she knows where it is. Devin needs Kara to understand that he is trying to help and protect her, but he needs what ever Tommy left her. Devin doesn't want to hurt Kara, but he will definitely punish her if she doesn't behave. With Devin's big boss wanting Kara dead and everything incriminating delivered to him, he's got his work cut out for him. Kara only wants to get away from Devin and she is disgusted with herself for liking the punishments he gives her. This story has a lot of twists and turns. Can Devin keep Kara safe or will Kara prove to be too much for him to handle? Grab this book today it's an excellent read and some very hot and steamy s*x scences. There are BDSM elements in this story which just made me love it more.
I've read pretty much every book on this planet that had anything to do with darkness, kink, love. For years nothing could keep up with "captive in the dark" but this book here really surprised me. The author managed to create a story that, from a psychological perspective, is realistic. The actions and feelings, the thoughts of the persons are formed and grow, the personalities go through things that change them, they develop in a way that you can understand. This makes this book exceptional, as you can almost morph into it, your brain follows that development, you will change while experiencing your characters to change.

A big, strong, handsome man kidnaps a young women, ties her, gags her and throws her in back of his truck, keeps her isolated in his farmhouse. Demands her total obedience. When she's not being physically, mentally and sexually abused she's left naked, without food or water in a cage in the basement. When he does let her eat it's out of a dog dish on the floor. Her good behavior is rewarded with an almighty orgasm. Turns out he's an FBI agent, his mission is to protect her and reveal to her that this is the way she's always craved to be treated. (Stockholm Syndrome!) Of course, they fall in love and open a resort for likeminded couples.
I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. Very kinky. Amazing pet play. Definitely not for you vanilla people just dipping your toes into the water. This is an absolutely incredible book. I almost want to ask my partner to read it and take notes!!! No rape however definitely mental manipulation that leads to consent. Lovely charismatic yet ‘asshole-ish’ master/sir character (Devin). ACTUALLY RELATIVELY REALISTIC!! I have this HUGE pet-peeve for unrealistic kidnap/Stockholm syndrome books. THIS book was realistic. Kara is a thought out character, despite us only getting to see a few sides of her. If I had a complaint, it would be that I wanted Kara to be more well-rounded, but when your kidnapped, locked in a cage, and just after dealing with trauma related to your mysterious and dead brother… well, I guess there isn’t a whole lot going on inside you besides those things. This is definitely my favorite BDSM/Dark Erotica book thus far. I will be rereading this book multiple times before I find a new favorite. 10/5 stars for sure.
